The Integrated Design Lab (IDL) at NWACC had its grand opening on September 27, 2019. I had the opportunity to design the logo and event program for this state-of-the-art building. The IDL concept combining art and construction is very interesting and worth reading about at www.nwacc.edu/IntegratedDesign. It is actualized through the Bauhaus philosophy.
Before I began designing the logo, I did some research on Bauhaus design. I was inspired by the geometric typography. I played with the construction aspect and made the L look like a carpenter's square. I utilized a green from NWACC's expanded color palette and used their font so that it aligned with the overall brand.
